I’ve had the wonderful privilege of being instructed by some of Boston’s most talented artists and photographers. The following are just a few highlights of this past year: shooting large format for the first time, learning the zone system developed by Ansel Adams, color correcting, studio lighting, finally figuring out what that grey card is all about and how to successfully use it, and the never ending possibilities of photoshop.
“I felt pretty cool with my first camera. Mine was in teal and I was wicked jealous of my sister’s pink one! My dad wasn’t too happy about how much film I used.”
I suppose I shouldn’t say my journey begins, but that it continues full steam ahead. I am blessed to have married not only my best friend, but also someone who shares my love for photography. With Ben and our spaniel Bo, you can find me exploring as much as possible in New England, taking in every moment of a life very different from the small midwest town we came from. “There are no new things to photograph, just new ways to photograph them.” This is a challenge I embrace. Thanks so much for viewing my work, I hope you enjoy the way I see the world.
