If I have a day at home with nothing to do, and by nothing I mean nothing I want to do, I absolutely must do something creative. Even if its a direct ripoff from Pinterest or a complete waste of time because it turns out badly, its just how I am. My mom always says that about an aunt of mine, she has to always be involved in a creative project. Of course, this is no different in my photography life. There is always a concept to shoot or plan. This was one of them.
This shoot was supposed to be one that went into my portfolio while at NESOP, but I didn’t get the chance to do it. My friends, Jadyn and Chloe, lovingly gave their time and beautiful faces to my creative process and I am very pleased with the results!
Color balloons or white? It seemed like such a hard decision. I finally went with white and am glad I did, although I’d like to do another shoot with color.
When I went to the party supply store to pick them up, I was expecting them to be much cheaper and I’d have 3 times as many as I did. When did balloons become so expensive?! I bought my 12 and picked up the girls. We headed to this place called Betty’s Neck in Lakeville, MA. What does that mean, Betty’s Neck?! It is this cool isolated place that is down a winding cranberry bog drive behind a nursing home. A large stone engraved with the words “Betty’s Neck” sits at the end of a one lane road surrounded by thick forest. There are a few parking spots and then a path that leads to this beautiful open meadow. It truly is a wonderful and surprising place!
Jadyn and Chloe are great friends and have a real fun way about them. On the way, Chloe asked us if we were a fruit, what fruit would we be? She chose strawberries for me because “everyone likes them”. How sweet is that? Jadyn never bores me with her incredible sense of humor.
We finished the evening with a goofy picture!
Let’s be creative together! Give me a call or shoot me an email and make it happen!
